Problems with Sex: Retrograde Ejaculation
by Wolfdave
Ejaculation is the squirting out of semen during sex (sexual climax). There are three main ejaculation problems which are quite common. These being: Premature Ejaculation, Delayed ejaculation and Retrograde ejaculation. The one which 30% of men experience at some time in their life is premature ejaculation or PE. This is when you come too quickly during sexual intercourse. Delayed ejaculation affects around 5% of men. This is when you want to ejaculate during sex but fail to climax. Retrograde ejaculation is a rarer condition. This is when you experience the feeling of an orgasm, but there is little or no semen. This article focuses on Retrograde ejaculation. You should always seek professional medical advice before taking any medications or using new techniques.
Retrograde ejaculation is a condition where, instead of sperm squirting out of the end of the uretha, it travels backwards into the bladder. You experience the feeling of an orgasm but little or no semen is produced. This is a rarer type of ejaculation problem and the condition does not pose any danger to your health, but may affect your ability to have a baby. A lot of men may experience this problem occasionally. A possible sign of this condition is cloudy urine immediately after sex, because of the presence of semen in it. See your doctor if you feel this problem is severe or ongoing.
Retrograde ejaculation can be caused by nerve or muscle damage to the neck of the bladder. This can stop the neck of the bladder from closing, causing the semen to enter the bladder rather than travel up the uretha. This is the tube that carries urine through the penis from the bladder. Surgery to the prostate gland is a common cause of this problem. Diabetes and multiple sclerosis are other known causes. Alpha blockers, used to treat high blood pressure, can also contribute to this condition.
Most men do not require medical treatment for retrograde ejaculation, there is no adverse affects to their health and they can still enjoy sexual activity. If treatment is recommended by your doctor, medicines can be used to strengthen your bladder neck muscles. If however, muscle or nerve damage is severe, due to injury for example, then treatment may not prove effective. If this is the case and you wish to father children, then sperm can be taken from your urine for use in IVF.
