Problems with Sex: Delayed Ejaculation.
(Can’t come during sex)
by Wolfdave

Ejaculation is the squirting out of semen during sex (sexual climax). There are three main ejaculation problems which are quite common. These being: Premature Ejaculation, Delayed ejaculation and Retrograde ejaculation. The one which 30% of men experience at some time in their life is premature ejaculation or PE. This is when you come too quickly during sexual intercourse. Delayed ejaculation affects around 5% of men. This is when you want to ejaculate during sex but fail to climax. Retrograde ejaculation is a rarer condition. This is when you experience the feeling of an orgasm, but there is little or no semen. This article focuses on Delayed ejaculation. You should always seek professional medical advice before taking any medications or using new techniques.

Delayed ejaculation is when you have a normal erection, but can’t reach a climax and ejaculate, even though you want to. Some medications and certain health conditions can contribute to this problem. However, in most cases the causes tend to be psychological. If you can maintain an erection and are receiving satisfactory stimulation, you want to ejaculate but are unable to do so, then delayed ejaculation could be your problem. If you reach a climax during masturbation, but not during sexual intercourse, then this could be caused by feelings of anxiety, or guilt.

Other psychological causes could be: Sexual trauma – a traumatic sexual experience at an early age, being caught out having sex, masturbating or, more seriously, sexual abuse. Strict upbringing – Being raised in a strict family, where sex is regarded as sinful or only appropriate after marriage. Relationship problems, Overtired, stress and depression. Try having your partner keep some clothing on, perhaps her bra or skimpy top for instance. Then slowly remove this just when you are at the point of wanting to ejaculate.

Physical factors contributing to delayed ejaculation can include: Diabetes, surgery to the bladder, prostrate gland, increasing age, multiple sclerosis, and spinal injury. Additional causes known to cause this problem include: antidepressants, recreational drugs and alcohol. The first step to overcome this problem is to talk to your doctor.

Physical causes can usually be treated by your doctor. If medication is causing your problem he may be able to suggest an alternative. Psychological causes will need therapy and counselling using several techniques to try and overcome your problem. If you are trying to have a baby, artificial insemination (IVF) can be considered.
